I am at the Songkran celebration at Sriwittayapaknam school. The summer school students are marking the start of the traditional Thai new year.
About 25 monks from a local temple were invited to the school so that the students and parents could make merit by offering food.
Tables were set up around the playground and then the monks formed a long line. Students then offered some food and other essentials as each of the monks passed by.
Afterwards, students poured rose scented water onto a Buddha image. They are now playing traditional Thai games. Then the highlight of the morning will be the water fights.
