Today I went on a day trip down to Chonburi City and Bangsaen Beach. My first stop was at Wat Thammanimit.
It wasn’t easy finding this temple as all the signs were in Thai. However, once I turned off Sukhumwit Road in Chonburi City and headed towards Phanat Nikhom, it wasn’t long before I spotted this giant Buddha image on the hillside.
This Buddha image is rare because he is seated in a European style. It was completed in 1960 and is made from reinforced concrete and decorated with coloured mosaic tiles. It is 34 meters high. Click here to see the location on a map.
