On the second day of our TAT media trip to the islands in Surat Thani Province we checked out of our hotel on Koh Tao and made the short 10 minute trip to Koh Nang Yuan.
Koh Nang Yuan is a very small island. In fact it is really three islands which are joined together by sandbanks. It is a private owned island so you have to pay a 100 Baht entrance fee.
The island of Koh Nang Yuan is popular as a snorkeling destination. Luckily we had time on our busy schedule to spend a couple of hours here. The fish were really tame and came very close to us. The coral is also very beautiful but I think a lot of it has been damaged by tourists.
You have to pay for everything 50 Baht for a deckchair. 100 Baht for 2 chairs and an umbrella Showers are 50 Baht. However, a walk to the top of a nearby hill is both free and rewarding. The view is breathtaking.
