It is sometimes hit and miss when I go to local events to take pictures. Often I don’t know what to expect. I don’t go to everything as I am very busy. I usually skip the hand-shaking photo ops (well in Thailand it is really a “wai-ing photo opp). I try to go for something that could potentially provide a good picture.

So, I was really happy that the Citroen Car Rally at Ancient Siam in Samut Prakan turned out to be a good photo opportunity. The Ancient Siam is a great place to go and take pictures at the best of times. But even better when they have organized an event.

The members of this car rally had travelled from Malaysia to Thailand and had already been to many places like Chiang Mai and Sukhothai. Samut Prakan was their last stop. I am happy that they came here which gave us a chance to see some of these old Citroen cars close up.

It was the last stop of a car rally. They have all gone back home now. We didn’t get much notice but I did tweet about it as soon as I heard.

Thanks Richard. It’s a shame we don’t get notice about lots of events in and around Bangkok ! How do you get to know them ? I usually read carfeully the English newpaspers but it is not even announced there ! Have a nice day. Yum

@Yum In the case of Ancient Siam, they send me information about their events. A few others do the same. It is always hard work to get information and often too late. I also get the daily schedule for the Governor so if he is attending a festival then sometimes that is the first I get to hear about it. But then, we only get this schedule the night before. There is also a Thai website that has press releases which is sometimes useful.
